1. Pemutihan Butir Gandum Keruh


Banyak pengusaha - pengusaha di Indonesia yg memproses bahan baku butir gandum impor yg kualitasnya sangat jelek (warna kuning, ash content tinggi, berbau apek), dimana di negara asalnya menjadi limbah. Di Indonesia bahan baku ini dibeli dengan harga murah dan diolah dengan proses sederhana shg menjadikan profit yg menggiurkan.
Inilah hasil riset saya mengenai ini.
"Many businessmans in Indonesia that processes raw material import such as wheat seed which low level quality (yellowish, high ash content and bad smell) and this is tobe waste in origin country. In Indonesia this raw material is sold with low price and processed simplely so be interest profit.
This is my reserach."
Langkah - langkah proses pemutihan butir gandum keruh SKALA LABORATORIUM adalah :
  • Menyiapkan butir gandum keruh secukupnya
  • Menyiapkan ZAT X (bisa powder & liquid) liquid konsentrasi 30 % sedangkan powder 8% (pembuatan mengacu pada prinsip pengenceran menggunakan air, karena rasio pemakaian adalah 1 kg powder : 2,5 L liquid
  • Memasukkan butir gandum ke larutan tsb
  • Mengaduk sekitar 2 - 3 menit agar gas yg terkandung dlm ZAT X keluar
  • Setelah dilihat warna sudah mulai memudar keputihan kemudian memisahkan butir gandum dengan larutan
  • Mengeringkan butir gandum hingga kering dan melihat perubahan mencolok sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan
  • Untuk mendapatkan warna mengkilap tetapi warna putih sedikit pudar langkahnya adalah mencuci butir gandum kemudian mengeringkannya
"Steps bleaching process of wheat seed laboratory scale are :
  • Preparing wheat seed
  • Preparing X substance (powder & liquid) liquid concentration 30 % and powder 8% (making refer to the principle dillution with water, due to ratio consumption is 1 kg powder : 2,5 L liquid
  • Entering wheat seed to the solution
  • Stirring about 2 - 3 minutes so contain X substance can be released
  • After known whitish color then separate wheat seed with solution
  • Drying wheat seed and see changing after and before treated
  • To get a clear color but little pale white, the step is washing wheat seed then drying"

Penjelasan Process Flow Diagram Pemutihan Butir Gandum dg ZAT X Liquid :
Butir gandum keruh (umpan) dimasukkan di Hopper (bisa menggunakan Bucket Elevator jika tempat tinggi / manual) utk menjaga aliran continue, kemudian dg Screw Conveyor I dimasukkan di Mixing Tank. Bersamaan dg itu, dimasukkan ZAT X liquid dg Pompa Sentrifugal dari drum penyimpanan ke Mixing Tank yg dilengkapi dg pengaduk. Kemudian setelah 5 - 10 menit pengadukan, limbah cairan di keluarkan dan butir gandum dialirkan ke Rotary Dryer dg Screw Conveyor II. Rotary Dryer berfungsi sbg pengering dan media pemanas adalah Steam Boiler yg menggunakan air beraliran listrik shg menghasilkan steam. Aliran steam counter current yg dimaksudkan agar butir gandum tdk lagsung kontak dg suhu tinggi yg bisa menyebabkan biji bengkak jadi panas yg diterima pelan2 semakin tinggi. Rotary Dryer dilengkapi Cyclone I utk memisahkan kemungkinan gas / material yg terikut dan akan mengembalikan butir gandum terikut ke proses selanjutnya dan gas akan dibuang. Setelah melewati Rotary Dryer maka umpan masuk ke Rotary Cooler dg Screw Conveyor III, disini akan dilakukan pendinginan produk. Rotary Cooler menggunakan media pendingin udara yg didapatkan dari udara bertekanan kompresor dan juga dilengkapi dg Cyclone II. Arah aliran counter current agar umpan semakin lama semakin dingin seiring berjalan di alat dan produk yg didapatkan ditampung di bak penampung.

Bad wheat seed (feed) is entered into hopper (can use bucket elevator if high place / manual) to keep continuity flow, then with screw conveyor I is entered into mixing tank. With it, entered liquid X substance with centrifugal pump from container drum into stireed mixing tank. Thus, after 5 - 10 minutes stirring, liquid waste is exhausted and wheat seed is transported into rotary dryer with screw conveyor II. Rotary dryer have function as dryer and heating media is steam boiler which use electric coil so that produce steam. Steam flow is counter current means wheat seed indirect contact with high temperature can cause seed broken so accepted temperature slowly to higher temperature. Rotary dryer is equipped with cyclone I to separate gas / material entrained and will return wheat seed entrained to the next process and gas will be discarded. After passing rotary dryer entering feed to the rotary cooler with screw conveyor III, here will be done cooling product. Rotary cooler using air as cooling media and derived from air compressed from compressor and also equipped with cyclone II. Flow direction is counter current so feed smore and more cool with flow in instrument and product transported into container drum."

Penjelasan Process Flow Diagram Pemutihan Butir Gandum dg ZAT X Powder :
Butir gandum keruh (umpan) dimasukkan di Hopper I (bisa menggunakan Bucket Elevator jika tempat tinggi / manual) utk menjaga aliran continue, kemudian dg Screw Conveyor I dimasukkan di Mixing Tank. Bersamaan dg itu, dimasukkan ZAT X Powder yg ditampung di Hopper II ke Mixing Tank. Mixing Tank dilengkapi pengaduk dan dilakukan penambahan air yg besarnya setara ZAT X 30% .Kemudian setelah 5-10 menit pengadukan, limbah cairan di keluarkan dan butir gandum dialirkan ke Rotary Dryer dg Screw Conveyor IIRotary Dryer berfungsi sbg pengering dan media pemanas adalah Steam Boiler yg menggunakan air yg dialiri listrik shg menhasilkan steam.
